Should I apply for a student loan or a personal loan?

My fiance wants to go to a technical college in Georgia and we are planning on getting an apartment. I will be working fulltime and he will be working part-time and going to school. We want to take out a loan to pay for a whole year's rent upfront and I was wondering what kind of loan we should apply for?

Don't pay off the whole years rent up front. Pay by the month. This way if you have the money and it is in your account, then you get the interest.
